The village uses the natural flow of brooks and creeks through the village and channels the continuously flowing water through an intricate system of tiny 'canals' along the paths and fields. |

In the cabbage field, for example, there exists a system of rows of small trenches through the field, all connected on one side of the field to the village system. The individual trenches are cut off from the main supply by small makeshift dams piled up from dirt and branches.
In order to water her cabbages, Donzilia simply uses her universal tool and hacks away these makeshift dams one at a time. This way she directs the water through each part of the field, one at a time. In the meantime she goes through the cabbages and pulls out weeds, harvests ripe cabbages and pulls off unnecessary leaves which she puts aside for the animals. |

In the absence of tractors, cows can be used to plow the fields. Where cows are no possibility, the pictured tool can be used as a universal tool for hacking, light plowing, revolving fields and planting. |
